《Beyond the Ocean》 is a production presented by iQIYI and co-produced by 

Daysview Animation and Horgos Huotianda.

This animated series is adapted from the a series of novels written by Ma Boyong,

 a well-known writer. It tells a story that the Prince Jian Wen was framed by governmentofficials 

for murdering the emperor and usurping the throne when the King waspatrolling the coast.

 The King was actually murdered by Commander 

Zheng because he and the Duke Yan, the Prince's uncle were plotting to take the crown. 

Prince Jianwen had to flee because Commander Zheng kept chasing him and 

planned to take him back to Duke Yan who has ascebded to the throne Emperor. 

During Jianwen's trip of escape to the South, he met a Japanese Ninja Qili, 

a Mongolian Naval General Tengos and a naturalist Harold and they became real

 friends on the way of run. These four planned to use the Pirate Island of the

 Southern China Sea as their base to investigate the truth of the King's death and reveal it to the world.
